About Afrika Kommt Internships Programme

The program Afrika Kommt brings together the most visionary young leaders from Africa and leading German companies. The program aims at highly qualified young professionals and young executives from countries in Africa including North Africa with years of hands-on work experience, strong leadership qualities, and a very high level of commitment and dedication.

The AFRIKA KOMMT program is a one-year stay in Germany program for African professionals. During this time, the fellows actively work in their partner companies where they are trained and mentored. Other components organized by GIZ such as language courses, training, and networking events supplement the learning experience.

• Roundtrip airfare to and from Germany
• Living allowance of €720 / per month
• Accommodation during all stages of the program in Germany
• Health insurance, accident insurance, and liability insurance
• Programme-related traveling expenses in Germany
• International management training courses
• Study tours and weekend seminars in Germany as well as cultural activities
• One-off relocation fee of € 1.000, for settling back into the home countries
• Roundtrip airfare to and from Germany as well as travel and accommodation during the refresher course
